Workshop on Capital Gains Taxation & Exemptions and Taxation of Start-Ups

PHD Chamber of Commerce, a Principal Chamber of Commerce of India, recently organized a workshop on Taxation and Exemptions of Capital Gains including under Joint Development Agreements as well as on Taxation of Start-Ups.

The workshop was chaired by our Managing Partner Mr. Anil Kumar Chopra who is the Chairman of the Direct Tax Committee of the Chamber. The conference was addressed by eminent tax experts in the city and well attended by over 130 delegates including senior professionals and tax executives from major corporates.

PHD Chamber had organized an Annual Conference on “Tax Deduction At Source: Issues, Problems and Recent Developments” on Thursday, 9th August, 2018 at PHD House, New Delhi. Our Managing Partner, Mr. Anil Kumar Chopra had chaired the conference as Chairman, Direct Tax Committee, PHD.

Internal Knowledge Sharing Session on Wealth Management taken by Mr Amit Saxena

As part of our ongoing efforts to promote information and knowledge sharing at the firm a Knowledge sharing session on Wealth Management was organised for the entire team on 27th July, 2018 at PHD House, New Delhi. Mr. Amit Saxena, Managing Partner Edelweiss Financial Services Limited was the key presenter and shared keen insights on the financial services industry in India. Senior officials from Edelweiss were addressed the session and interacted with all the participants’ along with Senior members of the leadership team.

The conference was attended by senior government officials as well as eminent tax experts from industry.

PHD Seminar: Facilitating Ease of Compliance with Taxpayers Rights & Obligations and Removal of Hardships

Mr. Anil Chopra chaired a Knowledge Sharing Seminar on “Facilitating Ease of Compliance with Taxpayers Rights & Obligations and Removal of Hardships.” The seminar was attended by Principal Chief Commissioner, Income Tax (Delhi), Ombudsman of Income Tax and other senior Tax Officials from the government. It addressed some important concerns & practical challenges faced by tax payers related to Direct Tax Assessments, Appeals, Refunds & Miscellaneous Matters.

Meeting at Ministry of Finance

Mr. Anil Chopra participated in a select meeting of industry and tax professionals at the invitation of Finance Minister , Mr. Arun Jaitley to discuss the Income Declaration Scheme 2016 in India. The Scheme, which is operational from June 1 to September 30, 2016, allows domestic black money holders to declare unaccounted income & wealth & come clean by paying a tax & penalty of 45%. Mr. Chopra shared his thoughts on & suggestions for the Scheme at this meeting.
